My mind moves quite fast (almost as fast as my crocheting hands!) and I sometimes find it hard to slow down and reflect.
Life races by! If you’re always looking ahead to the next goal or adventure, you can miss out on fully appreciating what’s already come.
Today is my birthday, so I lit some incense and I’m sitting down to pause. Because writing helps me process, I’m treating this like a little diary-entry blog post to share with you :)
Here are some milestones and memories I’ve cherished personally:
I learned a new thing – how to paint press-on nails – and FELL IN LOVE! Now I even sell them :) It had a steep learning curve, but I persevered and now I can’t get enough!
My friend helped me redesign a room in my house to become an actual office – the walls are purple and it’s covered in plants! A true dream!
I had so much fun gardening this year! I grew new things and learned how to make bouquets, which are my new favorite gift for friends.
My husband and I took beautiful trips to Tennessee, the Finger Lakes NY, and Maine to hike and enjoy all the wonders of the woods!
And here are some of my favorite moments as a business owner and creative:
I launched my educational business, The Creative Business Accelerator, with resources and a course for makers!
I started gathering in virtual spaces regularly, streaming and hosting Crochet + Chat zoom calls
I participated in a bunch of incredible fashion shows, like Fashion Week Rochester and Regals + Runways
I started selling my items year-round at 2 local shops
I got my first paid brand deal (and hope more will be coming soon!)
I hosted fun community giveaways and connected with so many incredible businesses
In the last year, I released 6 new crochet patterns! My favorite has to be the Botanical Bralette, as it’s so quick to whip up and so cute! You know I can’t resist anything with leaves 🍃
It hasn’t been all rainbows and roses. In fact, challenges in the creative industry are shaking this business to the core. But I’m not giving up, and I’m bringing a little extra dose of gratitude into every moment on this crochet adventure!
